The PGI Pella (ΠΓΕ Πέλλα) zone (est.1995) comprises the homonymous district in central Macedonia.  Until a few years ago, most of Pella’s vineyards were to be found in the area of Giannitsa. Gradually, new cultivations as well as new wineries were added in the areas of Eordea and Skydra. The 2008 revision broadened the zone’s composition in varieties.

 

Varieties:

White Wines: Roditis, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc

Red Wines: Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, Limnio, Moschomavro, Negoska, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Merlot, Syrah.

Rosé wines: Roditis, Xinomavro, Agiorgitiko, Limnio, Moschomavro, Negoska, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Merlot, Syrah.
