Tsantali (Rapsani)
The Tsantali family has been creating wines and distilling tsipouro and ouzo since 1890. The family’s philosophy focuses on the creation of quality wines and distillates which respect the age-old tradition of the wine growing regions.
The Tsantali Winery has privately owned vineyards and wineries in Agios Pavlos Halkidiki, on Mount Athos, Rapsani on Mount Olympus, Naoussa and Maronia in Thrace.
With the rebirth of historical vineyards and varieties, with the adoption of biological and integrated viticulture, with a strong viticultural and oenological team and a complete sales force with exports in over 45 countries, the Tsantali Winery is the international leader in the effort of portraying the best of wines and distillates from Greece.
Approximately 55% of Tsantali annual production is exported to countries all over the world, such as U.S.A., Canada, Brazil, Australia, China, Russia and many more.
The vineyards of Tsantali Rapsani lie on the southern slopes of Mount Olympus at an altitude of 250-600 metres.
In 1971 the outstanding quality of the wine led to its recognition as “Rapsani Controlled Appellation of Origin” thus implementing measures to protect its quality and production.
The wines “Rapsani Tsantali”, “Rapsani Reserve Tsantali” and “Rapsani Grand Reserve Tsantali” are vinified in the family owned Tsantali Rapsani winery and have over the years enjoyed acclaims from prestigious journalists such as Jancis Robinson and Hugh Johnson. These wines are co-vinified from the unique indigenous varieties Xinomavro, Krassato and Stavroto.
