Sigalas Estate was established in 1991. The winery was initially housed in the traditional “canava” (underground wine cellar) of the family of Paris Sigalas. In 1998 a new vinification, bottling and aging unit was built in a privately owned area and put into operation. Continuous modernization and expansion investments shaped the current production infrastructure, able to process and bottle about 300,000 bottles per year.
2003 is a very important year for Sigalas Estate, as the company increased its share capital through the participation of Alexandros Avatangelos, thus strengthening its financial autonomy.
Since November 2005 V.S. Karoulias is the exclusive retailer and distributor of all products of Sigalas Estate in the Greek market (excluding Santorini).
Sigalas Estate exports wine to Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Switzerland, Poland, Japan, Hong Kong, Sweden, Russia, the U.S., Canada and Australia.
Today, Sigalas Estate continues to implement its developmental strategy, always based on the three main founding principles: creative relationship with the tradition of the land of Thera, know-how and quality.
