PGI Thiva (ΠΓΕ Θήβα)
In the district of Viotia, in the southeastern part of the region of Central Greece, the PGI Thiva (ΠΓΕ Θήβα) zone, established in 2000, comprises the areas of the municipalities of Vagia, Thespies, Thebes (Thiva), Thisvi, Schimatari and Tanagra.
The vineyards yielding PGI Thiva wines –among the most touted and popular PGI Area Wines of Greece- are situated in the southeastern part of Viotia. In the 2010 revision, the valuable local red variety Mouhtaro, in the revival and development of which some wineries have invested, was included in the list. The possibility for the production of sweet wines was also added.

Varieties:
White Wines: Athiri, Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Moschofilero, Roditis, Savatiano, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc.
Red Wines: Agiorgitiko, Mouchtaro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carignan, Grenache Rouge, Merlot, Syrah.
Rosé wines: Agiorgitiko, Mouchtaro, Roditis, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carignan Grenache Rouge, Merlot, Syrah.
